Welcome to the August newsletter, we hope your enjoying the summer and enjoying the festival season.

An important update to all members with regarding your membership perks, from January 2026 members will gain free access to CAMRA run festivals. Joint or combined festivals will not be covered by this so an entrance fee would still be payable to some festivals.

Thank you goes out to all the members that supported Hinckley & Bosworth branch with Market Bosworth Rail Ale festival from setting up to the festival itself and take down. Shortly after Bosworth was the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) this year held at the NEC in Birmingham. Some of our members volunteered, thank you for giving up your time for this event.

The results were announced for Champion Beer of Britain at GBBF with Church End Brewery Fallen Angel coming in third place. The winner being Penzance Brewing Company Mild with Sarah Hughes Snowflake coming second.

The socials have restarted after a short break with the Stockingford Pub Walk. An announcement was made with an award given to Tim Healy at the Miners Arms, Stockingford for being Highly Commended for LocAle Pub of the Year 2025, having consistently kept a local beer available from a brewery within 25 to 30 miles of the pub.

Our next event will be to the Tamworth Beer Festival on the 4th September 2025 catching the 09:54 train for the opening of the festival. A selection of pubs will be visited in the afternoon.

The selection process for Pub of the year 2026 is now underway and your beer scores are invaluable to the selection process, so please do score when visiting pubs to give them a chance of making the shortlist, don't forget the criteria (please check if you’re unsure).
